Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands has announced its Charity of the Year as Loughborough’s Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Staff members who work for the developer are committing to raising funds for the hospice in 2020.
As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows provides vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions.
The hospice offers end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care, whilst also being there to support parents and siblings through their bereavements.
Hayley Purser, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Rainbows, said: “We were so pleased to hear that we had been chosen as Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands’ Charity of the Year and are so excited to work together to raise vital funds for the hospice this year.
“We are currently caring for more than 450 families from across the East Midlands and this support will help us to continue being there for those who need us.”
Based in Loughborough, the charity was the voted by the leading developer which has developments across Leicestershire.
Chris Southgate, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Rainbow’s Children’s Hospice as our Charity of the Year for 2020.
“The work they carry out on a daily basis is admirable and we’re grateful to have this opportunity to raise vital funds for such a worthwhile cause.
“Each year our company commits its fundraising efforts to a particular charity and we are looking forward to supporting Rainbows in 2020.”
Now that the charity has been announced, the homebuilder will begin to plan its fundraising events throughout the year.
Following the success of a golf day for its Charity of the Year in 2019, Barratt and David Wilson Homes will be arranging another golf event later in the year for Rainbows Hospice with its employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
