LEICESTERSHIRE DEVELOPER HELPS 55 NHS WORKERS MAKE A MOVE WITH DEPOSIT CONTRIBUTION

Posted on September 25, 2020 Comments Off on LEICESTERSHIRE DEVELOPER HELPS 55 NHS WORKERS MAKE A MOVE WITH DEPOSIT CONTRIBUTION

Since the launch of its NHS Deposit Contribution Scheme on 23rd May, David Wilson Homes East Midlands has helped 55 NHS employees secure a new home.

The scheme, launched by parent company Barratt Developments, sees NHS employees receive a 5% contribution towards their deposit, up to £15,000, to help them buy a new home as a thank you for their hard work during the Covid-19 crisis.

Since the introduction of the scheme, Coalville-based David Wilson Homes has helped NHS workers across its operational areas of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire with 55 properties reserved using the scheme so far.

With 24 of those properties reserved in Leicestershire alone, the housebuilder has seen a fantastic response to the scheme at its developments Wigston Meadows in Wigston (12), Grange View in Hugglescote (5), David Wilson Homes at Kibworth (4) and Fleckney Fields in Fleckney (3).

The NHS incentive can also be used in conjunction with the government Help to Buy scheme, offering further support to those looking to purchase their first home.

In the Summer Budget announcement, the Chancellor declared there would be no Stamp Duty to pay on properties up to the value of £500,000 on sales that have legally completed before 31st March 2021. It’s estimated that the scrapping of Stamp Duty will benefit nine in ten homebuyers in England and Northern Ireland, saving £4,500 on the average purchase, making it an ideal time for those in search of their first or family home to take advantage of these savings across the region.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “It’s brilliant to see NHS workers in Leicestershire are making use of the NHS Deposit Contribution Scheme. The National Health Service has worked incredibly hard during the Covid-19 pandemic and we are really pleased that the scheme is already benefiting those who deserve it the most.”

David Wilson Homes currently has properties available at Wigston Meadows, Grange View, Fleckney Fields and its Kibworth development, in addition to Burnmill Grange in Market Harborough.
