Work is underway on phase two of the extension to the driving range at Derbyshire golf, hotel and leisure complex Morley Hayes.
Hoardings are currently around the site whilst the construction of nine new bays is underway. Phase two of the redevelopment work will also include the addition of a dedicated area for wheelchair golfers, along with new teaching facilities for East Midlands Golf Academy.
The latest upgrades follow the extensive renovation works to expand the golf provision at Morley Hayes, which were completed at the end of last year. These included the addition of new bays, the creation of 18 more parking spaces and better disabled access.
Last year’s redevelopment also included the construction of the new the Tower Café, which has proved a real hit with customers. The café serves hot and cold drinks and a selection of snacks and light bites. There is also a comfortable lounge area where golfers can relax after a session on the driving range. The Tower Café has also proved popular with business customers and includes power sockets on each table and free wi-fi.
A new retail area showcases a range of golf clothing, accessories and golf balls from leading golf brands such as Under Armour, Footjoy and Titleist.
The new facilities at the driving range will complement the already top-class golf facilities available at Morley Hayes, which include a championship length 18-hole Manor course, 9-hole Tower course, golf pavilion and the highly respected East Midlands Golf Academy.
Commenting on the extension of the driving range, Andrew Allsop, managing director of Morley Hayes, said:
“We’re really excited to be making further improvements to our driving range, which is very popular with golfing enthusiasts and families.
“Our new power tees, rugby posts and light-up targets have been a real success, resulting in a significant increase in the number of golfers using our facilities.
“Adding eight new bays to the driving range and the new EMGA teaching facilities will complement the facilities we already have at Morley Hayes, including fantastic restaurants, a luxury four-star hotel and two golf courses.”
Set in the stunning Derbyshire countryside overlooking parkland golf courses, Morley Hayes boasts a luxury four star, 32-bedroom hotel and a choice of three restaurants, including the award-winning two AA rosette Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bar.
The driving range is open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 10.00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7.30am to 9.00pm.
