A Sales Adviser at Barratt Homes’ Manor Farm development has shared her fond memories of a flourishing community which is drawing to a close in North Hykeham.
Wendy Smith has worked on the Manor Farm development since Barratt Homes first started selling in November 2004, and has watched Manor Farm grow into a thriving neighbourhood of close to 1,000 properties.
With almost 900 homes sold to date, the long-serving Sales Adviser has helped many of these homeowners move in to their dream home.
An era is coming to an end for Barratt Homes with over 85% of properties sold at the development and all residents are expected to be moved in by autumn 2020, meaning this is the last opportunity for keen house hunters to buy a new build home here.
Looking ahead to Manor Farm’s completion, Wendy said: “I will be sad to leave, but leave with the knowledge that from day one opening in a sales cabin located in a field off Newton Road. I leave behind a thriving new community where I have made many friends.
“One of my highlights was the opening of the show homes on the fifth phase of properties. We made a real party of it with a Pimm’s bicycle, a balloon modeller and lots of food.”
The public open space and play equipment are Wendy’s favourite features on the development, contributing to the perfect place for families to call home.
She added: “What stands out for me is the mixture of styles in the properties and the thoughtfully designed street scenes which give a feeling of space.”
As part of the development, Barratt Homes invested the funds required to build a new primary school, whilst a nursery, Co-op, fish and chip shop and hairdresser’s can also be found at Manor Farm.
Jan Ruston, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to have Wendy in our team at Manor Farm and she’s contributed a great deal to the development’s success.
“We’ve been building new homes at Manor Farm for over 15 years and it will be fantastic to see this community completed in the coming months.”
The development was initially named Oak Tree Farm and features mature oak trees, as well as newly-planted trees that will blossom over the years.
There is currently a selection of three and four bedroom homes available at Manor Farm with prices starting from £215,995.
Homebuyers at the development can enjoy a day out in the historic city of Lincoln, which is just five miles away.
Hartsholme Country Park is also in close proximity, offering a breath of fresh air for the weekends.
