Poppy PR is celebrating after a raft of lockdown successes for an existing recruitment client has led to it being chosen to handle communications work for the group’s Nottingham-based sister company.
After less than a year of working with Derby-based Sky Recruitment Solutions, Poppy PR is taking on the public relations role for Capella Professional, which has just opened its first branch in Nottingham city centre.
Capella is the sister company of Sky Recruitment, which has reported unprecedented growth since taking the brave decision at the beginning of the first national lockdown last March to employ a PR company for the first time in its seven-year history.
Since then, Sky Recruitment which has a head office in Derby, and other offices in Ripley and Huddersfield, has announced the imminent opening of three other UK branches, the first of which will be in Burton upon Trent.
David Torrington, managing director of both Sky and Capella, said: “At the start of the first 2020 lockdown, I had decided to increase my marketing budget in a bid to get a steal on the rest of the recruitment market – and it worked.
“Back then, I was spending a lot of time on PR and social media and what Poppy PR did was enable me to concentrate on building the business, safe in the knowledge that that side of things was taken care of.
“We had never invested in PR before but it’s been a great move for us. Big clients have approached us on the back of seeing some really good coverage in the press. And I’ve already referred two clients to Poppy PR in this last week – so that shows just how happy I am with their work.”
David’s decision to extend his trust in Poppy PR with the handling of his new recruitment brand Capella has delighted the marketing firm’s managing director Tina Clough.
“It’s fantastic news,” said Tina. “From day one, David was one of those clients that we clicked with instantly.
“Sky Recruitment has been so easy to work with, and I have a huge amount of respect for David and the way he runs his business. We’re so happy that he has endorsed Poppy PR’s work over the past year by choosing us to now work alongside Capella Professional.”
While the firms core specialism is in recruiting for industrial-type roles, Capella is focused mainly on office-based professional services recruitment.
Poppy PR has been briefed by both recruitment firms to handle its traditional public relations work as well as social media and website content.
