MORE PEOPLE WOULD CHOOSE TO BUY THAN RENT, SURVEY REVEALS

Posted on January 27, 2020 Comments Off on MORE PEOPLE WOULD CHOOSE TO BUY THAN RENT, SURVEY REVEALS

Leading developer David Wilson Homes is encouraging Leicestershire house hunters to consider the benefits of buying new after a new survey revealed that more people would choose to buy rather than rent.

The British Social Attitudes Survey 2018* has revealed that 87% of people would choose to buy a home rather than rent in the UK.

In response to this, the leading developer is revealing its top reasons why buying new is best.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “The Social Attitudes Survey is a great way to see what potential homebuyers think about new build properties.

“It allows us to work on what we do and make a bigger impact in the communities in which we work. We always build homes with the environment and surrounding communities in mind, contributing to local facilities and charities too.

“There are many advantages to buying a new build home in Leicestershire that we would like property seekers to consider.”

The homebuilder is busting myths after a number of individuals thought that new builds might be too expensive to buy or heat.

Over half of people (57%) were aware of developer contribution to making new homes available for sale at reduced cost.

David Wilson Homes has a range of offers and schemes for buyers to take advantage of when buying a brand-new home including Help to Buy, Movemaker and Part Exchange, making new build homes more affordable for all buyers.

Only 38% of people surveyed said that they were aware of developer contributions to support local services, such as schools or hospitals.

David Wilson Homes makes local monthly contributions through its Community Fund initiative. Recently, the homebuilder donated to Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary in Coalville, helping them to continue to care for and find new homes for a range of animals.

Two thirds of people, however, thought that new build homes were cheaper to heat than older homes.

David Wilson Homes’ properties are built to be up to 65% more energy efficient than the same sized older house**.

The homebuilder uses smart techniques, such as: providing an airtight home, insulated roofs and argon gas filled double glazing to make sure that draughts won’t cause winter chills.

Taking care of the environment is a big deal for David Wilson Homes and, at each development, it takes into account the many plants, birds and other wildlife in the area.

David Wilson Homes is proud to create homes that are built to last and encourage modern life.
