A new primary school at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Milton Keynes development, Eagles’ Rest celebrated opening its doors with an official launch event recently.

St Mary’s Wavendon C of E Primary School has extended and is now located on Wafandun Lane on the popular development.
On the official opening, there were special guests attending including the Mayor of Milton Keynes and Reverend Matt Trendall who blessed the time capsule which was buried by headteacher Amanda Dicks.
For the opening, the leading housebuilder donated school branded string bags to the pupils attending the primary school.
Amanda Dicks, Headteacher at St Mary’s C of E Primary School, said: “Receiving these bags is a real gift to each of our pupils. This has enhanced our very special and memorable day, and we thank Barratt and David Wilson Homes for their continued support to our school and pupils.”
The Milton Keynes primary school offers wonderful and varied learning experiences and continues to be rated ‘good’ by Ofsted since 2014, and again in October 2018, plus SIAMS ‘Outstanding’.
The school has also taken on the housebuilders’ bespoke Building Buddies Award which is specially designed to encourage children to show an interest in the industry.
Pupils have now been given their workbooks and are now preparing for their first activity, naming a development and designing a logo.
Building Buddies is a year long creative project with four tasks for the children to enjoy.
Jason Hearn, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to see the local primary school at Eagles’ Rest have settled into their new facility.
“As a five star housebuilder we not only care about building quality homes, but ensuring the wider area is a fantastic place to live and the local primary school is now in a great location for our residents to benefit from this facility.”
Homes at Eagles’ Rest are ideally situated with both the A421 and M1 within easy reach and for those looking to travel further afield, Milton Keynes train station is less than 15 minutes away and can take residents to London within an hour.
For families, there is plenty to do with a number of open areas ideal for children to play safely on the development and a number of great amenities nearby including the popular Kingston Centre and The Stables Theatre, where families can create many fun memories.
