HOMEBUILDER OFF TO A TEE WITH CHARITY FUNDRAISER SUCCESS

Posted on October 9, 2020 Comments Off on HOMEBUILDER OFF TO A TEE WITH CHARITY FUNDRAISER SUCCESS

A charity golf day arranged by Nottingham-based homebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands division has raised over £10,000 for its Charity of the Year, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

72 golfers, including Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ employees and sub-contractors took part in the tournament, which was held at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre in Calverton on 9th September.

Hayley Purser, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Rainbows, was welcomed to the event by Mark Cotes (Managing Director) and James Peryer (Commercial Director).

The £5,101 raised on the day has been matched by parent company, Barratt Developments, bringing the total money raised for Rainbows Hospice to £10,202.

The tournament was won by a team from Cawarden Demolition and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all, with Taylor Roofing & Gseal placing joint second.

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows provides vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions.

Currently, Rainbows provides End of Life Care and Symptom Management; it has introduced new services such as its Support at Home Service and Emergency Stays. It is continuing to support the NHS through the COVID pandemic whilst also being there to support parents and siblings through their bereavements.

Hayley Purser, said: “This was a fabulous day and it was great that it could still go ahead. Events like this are crucial to the fundraising we do at Rainbows and on behalf of our children, young people and their families; I would like to thank everyone who took part.”

Mark Cotes said, “The tournament was a great day of golf enjoyed by all, made even better knowing that we were raising vital funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“As a leading developer, we strive to contribute towards local communities in which we build, and we’re very pleased that our golf day was able to raise over £10,000.”
