After gaining inspiration on owning and decorating a new build home from social media, Louise Morris turned to Instagram to document her and her partner’s own move to Drakelow Park, David Wilson Homes’ Burton-on-Trent development.
Louise (35) and Phil Warcholak (36) made a move to their first home together at the Walton Road development after following the experiences of others moving to new build homes on Instagram.
Louise, who works as Cabin Crew for British Airways, decided to set up her own Instagram account @louises.home.xx to share the progress of their home from building site to perfect property. She now has over 6,000 followers and posts interior design shots from her new home.
Louise said: “I decided to create the account as you can get great tips and inspiration from seeing what other people are doing with their homes.
“We all answer one another’s questions about moving to a new build and we share ideas on how to decorate rooms and where to buy certain items.”
The features of their new four bedroom Bradgate style home have allowed the couple to relax and socialise in comfort while enjoying all the benefits of owning a brand new property.
Louise said: “We chose a new build for a modern look and convenient layout and our home is low-maintenance, which is perfect for me with travelling every week for work.”
“The Bradgate is the perfect property for us as the open plan kitchen and dining room lets us be in the same room together while one of us is cooking dinner and the other is relaxing.
“When Phil’s sons are here, we can all spend time together and the French doors mean they can play in the garden while still in sight.”
With Louise based at Heathrow Airport and Phil working as an Experimental Build Inspector at Rolls-Royce Derby, Drakelow Park is ideally placed for the couple, making their morning commutes hassle-free.
Phil said: “Having the M42 so close is perfect for Louise’s commute to Heathrow and, with Derby being within such easy reach, many of my colleagues have also moved to the development.
“We have a pub, shops and the boys’ school nearby, and the open fields around the development are perfect for dog walks.”
With their new home being the third property that Phil has bought with David Wilson Homes, they knew they were in safe hands.
Phil said: “Having lived in two David Wilson homes before, I knew the brilliant standard of the properties the company builds and felt completely comfortable making the move to Drakelow Park.
“The whole experience was easy and efficient from day one and the sales staff have been so helpful.”
