David Wilson Homes East Midlands is celebrating after three of its Site Managers in Derbyshire have won top national awards for the quality of the homes they are building from the National House-Building Council (NHBC).
Site Managers, Liam Hathaway, 41, Ashley Doyle, 27, and Zoe Rawlings, 38, have all been recognised by the NHBC for their annual Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
Liam, Site Manager at Ramblers’ Gate in Ashbourne, has worked for the housebuilder for 24 years and this year collected his sixth NHBC quality award.
He said: “The award is the culmination of a lot of hard work from my site team under the guidance of the site management team including input from the NHBC inspectors and judges.
“I feel immensely proud that this has been recognised.”
Ashley, the Site Manager at Shepherds Rest in Burton-upon-Trent, has worked for the developer for 11 years and picked up his first award this year.
He said: “Winning the award is such an amazing feeling, I’d like to say a special thank you to Jonathan Lindsey and Bill Moore.”
Zoe Rawlings, Senior Site Manager at David Wilson Homes at Mickleover, began as an Assistant Site Manager 14 years ago and has worked her way up the ladder with the developer.
She said: “It feels absolutely amazing to win this award. It is so humbling that in an often challenging and fast paced work environment, team members still go above and beyond.
“I’d like to thank my fiancé for his total understanding of the job pressures and my contracts manager for his continued support and faith in me and my team around me.”
Known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”, the Pride in the Job Quality Awards recognise the best run building sites in the country and are the highest accolade a site manager can achieve.
This year in total 84 site managers at parent company Barratt Developments won a Pride in the Job Quality award which is more than every other housebuilder. This is now the 15th year in a row that Barratt has won more of these prestigious awards than any other housebuilder.
In addition to spot checks from the NHBC, site managers are judged on their consistency, attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise and health and safety, with just 450 individual winners being chosen from over 16,000 entrants.
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “These awards recognise only the very best new homes and well-run sites. They are something that customers can look out for as a quality mark knowing their home has been built to the highest standard possible.
“To win more of these awards than any other housebuilder for over 15 years in a row is a real point of difference which shows how committed we are to building high quality homes for our customers.”
