A couple are settling into a brand new property in Cambridgeshire after securing their forever home at St Ives using Help to Buy.
Martin (31) and Eszter (34) recently moved to a delightful Morpeth style home at The Spires with their Toy Poodle Bobby. They were initially attracted to a new build because they wanted a home that was ready for them with no DIY required.
Eszter said: “We didn’t really want a project, and with a new build property it is essentially all ready for you. We love new and modern builds yet the development and the houses have an established feel.
“The town itself is very old and traditional, so we have the best of both worlds.
“We commute to Cambridge and so it was important to us to find a town with plenty of amenities so we can pop into town for a coffee or shopping at the weekend.
“St Ives is really beautiful and has all the essentials locally so we can avoid busy Cambridge at the weekends.”
The three bedroom Morpeth style home that the couple have moved into benefits from open plan rooms with spacious areas for entertaining guests throughout the year.
Martin said: “The Morpeth is a fantastically designed house where all parts have been impressively built to maximise the space.
“The kitchen and dining area is an especially effective space where we spend most of our time.”
Martin and Eszter used the Help to Buy scheme to secure their perfect home. The government- backed Help to Buy scheme, which launched in 2013, allows house hunters to purchase a home with just a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage.
The remaining 20% is funded by an equity loan, interest-free for the first five years and repayable on the sale on the home, making it easier for property seekers to make a move.
Martin said: “The house purchase was amazing. Everything from the initial reservation to completion was straight forward and efficient.
“The after sales care has also been excellent and we continue to regularly see the site sales staff and supervisors.”
The Spires is built on an old golf course and located on the edge of a country park.
The Knights Way development is set in the beautiful riverside town of St Ives and currently has a range of four bedrooms for keen house hunters.
Living at The Spires provides an idyllic lifestyle among mature trees and open spaces whilst also providing great transport links into Cambridge and surrounding towns and cities via the Guided Bus Route, the A14, A1 and Huntingdon train station nearby.
There are plenty of schemes house hunters can use to help them when reserving a property at a Barratt Homes development, including Help to Buy, Part Exchange and Movemaker, all designed to make the moving process that much simpler for buyers.
