A family from Calverton has made a fresh start at Barratt Homes’ Bingham development Romans’ Quarter after buying their first home and escaping the rental trap.
Purchasing the four bedroom Radleigh style home off-plan meant that Gayle (47) and Andrew (45) Cooper had plenty to look forward to before moving in.
After being shown similar homes by the Sales Advisers at Romans’ Quarter, the couple chose the property as it has given their family much-needed space while allowing them to spend quality time together.
Receiving the keys two days before her birthday, a new home was even more of a treat for Gayle as it provided the family with a blank canvas where they could start again after experiencing difficult times in their previous home.
The new memories began straight away, with Gayle and Andrew surprising their two children, Abigail (9) and Joseph (8), with their new home and all of their possessions moved in.
Gayle said: “I took the kids away for the weekend and they got the surprise of their lives when we arrived back to the house to find our things moved in to our new forever home. It was magical to see their little faces light up.”
About the design of their new home, Andrew said: “Our family now has the space to grow and the flow of the layout has really improved the way we operate.
“Having the open plan kitchen and family area means that we can all chat while we cook and there are different parts of the home for eating, working, playing and relaxing.”
For Gayle, a Freelance IT Project Manager, and Andrew, a Firefighter, being well-placed for commuting to work was important and the location of Romans’ Quarter encouraged the family to make a move to the development.
Gayle said: “The nearby rail links and the fantastic road network mean it’s really easy for me to get to work and moving here has meant that Andrew is just minutes away from Bingham Fire Station and can assist them as a retained firefighter between his shifts at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue.”
Romans’ Quarter is ideally placed so that residents can enjoy both town conveniences and the benefits of country life, a balance which the Cooper family has taken full advantage of since their move.
Andrew said: “We have so many conveniences nearby. The walks in the area are amazing which is perfect for us as dog owners, and so are the restaurants, shops and pubs. Everything is on our doorstep here, including exceptional schools.”
Jan Ruston, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “Our Romans’ Quarter development is really beginning to take shape and it’s fantastic to hear how well the Cooper family has settled in.
“There is something for everyone at the development, whether you’re looking to upsize or simply take the first step on the property ladder, and we encourage anyone interested to visit our Sales Centre to find out more.”
About their experience of buying with Barratt Homes, Gayle said: “After two of my sisters had such positive experiences with Barratt Homes, I knew we were in safe hands.
